This weeks marks the 30^th Anniversary of the American Library Association’s  event, Freedom to Read. This got me thinking about PaperBackSwap and our freedom to swap books.

There are books posted in every genre, by thousand and thousands of authors, on a million different subjects. There is something for everyone available, and the only books that aren’t available are, well, just not availableyet.

Searching the PBS data base, I was very please to see many of the books and authors that have been challenged or banned at one time or another are available for swapping here.

Here are a few that are currently available:

The Grapes of Wrath by John Steinbeck

The Color Purple by Alice Walker

The Call of the Wild by Jack London

In Cold Blood by Truman Capote

One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest by Ken Kesey

Lady Chatterley’s Lover by D.H. Lawrence
