In Closing … Newsletter – October 2005

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005

As the leaves are turning vibrant colors, a chill fills the air and we light our first fire of the season, we look forward to spending the month of November with a book in hand and our Book Family in our thoughts. Let this be a peaceful month, filled with thanksgiving for our many blessings and prayers for those less fortunate.

Faithfully yours,

Dear Book Family: Newsletter – September 2005

Monday, September 12th, 2005

What a year we’ve had at PaperBackSwap. Those that have been with us from the beginning know that our growth has been explosive in the last six months. More importantly, the club has evolved into a national network of book lovers who value the ability to exchange books with others.

This site would not have been possible without the valuable input from all of you – our devoted members. You continue to offer ideas for new features and improvements that make the site better each day. Our sincere thanks and appreciation for your kind words of support and direction.

We’ve enjoyed seeing friendships forge and camaraderie blossom within the club. It warms our hearts to see members reaching out to each other beyond the realm of books. From birthday wishes to baby announcements to first days of school, you are sharing more than books. You share your lives with one another, becoming more and more like family each and every day.

We thank you for joining us on our journey as we all pursue our dreams of building the world’s largest virtual library and the best book club in America. Thanks for a great first year.

Sincerely,
Richard and Robert
and the PaperBackSwap Team

A club like this is long overdue in the reading community. I love the clean and simple design of the website and the ease of the swapping system it sets up. Finally! I now have a place to get new reading material for myself and to send my used books to others…for worlds less money than the other used book websites charge. Thanks for taking a chance on such an incredible idea!

Letter From The PaperBackSwap Team: Newsletter – August 2005

Thursday, August 4th, 2005

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL MEMBERS! YOU DID IT!! We reached more than 100,000 available books in the system on Sunday, August 28th. You’ve added books, and you’ve added referrals who have added more books, and the family circle continues to expand. In less than three months our book club inventory has more than quadrupled. Just think what the future holds for all of us book lovers! Let’s continue to spread the word and watch those numbers grow.

We’ve added so many new features and improvements to the site that it is hard to highlight all of them here. In addition to the visible changes, there are many, many programming features done behind the scenes to enhance the site. While you won’t see these, you will experience a faster site with a more effective search engine and extensive database content.

We hope you enjoy the many new features and enhancements of The Greatest Book Club in America!

Thank you,

Richard and Robert

Letter from the PBS Team: Newsletter – June 2005

Saturday, June 11th, 2005

So much has happened since our last newsletter. The club is growing by leaps and bounds, adding new members and books every minute of the day! We’ve had wonderful coverage from the media, including NBC News from Boston. You can check out what others are saying by going to the “PR and Media” section of the club.

Thanks to all members that have referred friends and family. By spreading the word, you’re bringing more members and a wider variety of books to the club for everyone. (Results from our BoOk LoVErs’ Referral Contest are in this month’s newsletter.)

The goal of this newsletter is to highlight new features and provide helpful hints so that each member can navigate smoothly through the site and enjoy their book club experience. As always, should you have any questions or comments, please never hesitate to contact us. YOU are what makes this club so successful!

Thank you,
The PaperBackSwap Team

From the Founders: Newsletter – May 2005

Saturday, May 7th, 2005

They always say, “Find something you enjoy, and then go for it.” We love to read books and really wanted to share our passion for reading. We’re a group of ordinary folks who wanted a better way of trading paperbacks with others. In today’s web-based world, it just made sense to use the internet and form a club. We created PaperBackSwap.com so that members could swap books using a virtual library and the US mail. No gimmicks. No spam. No advertising. No kidding. The greatest reward from our efforts is that our members love the club! Check out the testimonials (or add your own) and see what other members think of the club. Thanks for the kind words!

If you haven’t visited the club recently, please do so. You’ll notice some fantastic changes that have been made: audio book listings, increase in page loading speed, more detailed book search categories, more questions answered for you in the Frequently Asked Question section (special thanks to Jill in Texas for her editing assistance). Also you now have the ability to place your books on hold when traveling away from home or when you are unable to mail books.

Thank you for joining us as we pursue our great adventure of building the world’s largest virtual library of paperback books.
