Read All About it: Newsletter – May 2006

Monday, May 8th, 2006

Thanks to everyone who provided media contact information! As you have probably already heard, we are contacting newspapers across the country to tell them about our club. One of those contacts has already resulted in an upcoming article in the magazine Popular Science. An article on PaperBackSwap will appear in the July 2006 issue, which will be coming out in mid-to-late June. If you have any media contacts for us, please submit them at http://www.paperbackswap.com/press_media/contacts/. Remember, the more members we have, the more books for everyone to trade!

PR and Membership Highlights: Newsletter – January 2006

Tuesday, January 3rd, 2006

Recently PBS was highlighted on National Public Radio (NPR). The coverage was on a nationwide basis. Listener response was overwhelming. With the surge of NPR listeners, we had members sign up from all 50 states in one evening. This is great news. See what spreading the word can do for you and all our wonderful club members? More members…more books to choose!

A member, Jan W., was recently able to obtain newspaper coverage in her area simply by contacting the local editor of her paper. It was a very simple process, and the paper was very interested in informing readers about PaperBackSwap. Check out our Press & Media section as well as our Advanced Referral section for ideas on how to promote the club. If you are successful in helping to acquire a story in a newspaper, radio or TV, let us know and you’ll be rewarded credits.

Don’t forget to have your referrals use either your profile nickname or your PBS email address when registering. This will ensure that you receive a referral credit for their membership.

In The News . . . Newsletter – August 2005

Thursday, August 11th, 2005

What success we’ve had with our Public Relations contest! Members from all across the United States have received between 25 and 50 free credits for their efforts in promoting the club. Through contacts with newspapers and television, members have wonderfully exposed their various communities to PaperBackSwap. This exposure means more members for the club, which in turn means more books for everyone. To see a selection of some of our PR and Media Coverage highlights, check out the section in the left hand column of the home page of the club. Thanks to all those members that participated.

Keep in mind that while the contest may have ended, we all still benefit from any PR and Media efforts you offer. We encourage you to do it for your club and fellow members. Remember, Oprah will want to interview lots of members if she ever gets ahold of this story. Just think, we could all meet in Chicago! 🙂

Letter from the PBS Team: Newsletter – June 2005

Saturday, June 11th, 2005

So much has happened since our last newsletter. The club is growing by leaps and bounds, adding new members and books every minute of the day! We’ve had wonderful coverage from the media, including NBC News from Boston. You can check out what others are saying by going to the “PR and Media” section of the club.

Thanks to all members that have referred friends and family. By spreading the word, you’re bringing more members and a wider variety of books to the club for everyone. (Results from our BoOk LoVErs’ Referral Contest are in this month’s newsletter.)

The goal of this newsletter is to highlight new features and provide helpful hints so that each member can navigate smoothly through the site and enjoy their book club experience. As always, should you have any questions or comments, please never hesitate to contact us. YOU are what makes this club so successful!

Thank you,
The PaperBackSwap Team
