Earth Day Contest entry— Instead of going out and buying toys for your kids, reuse items around your house. Shoe boxes can be so many things such as doll houses, shadow box displays etc. Plastic milk jugs can be cut and made into lots of things. Cut the top off of it and let your child put soil and seeds and teach them to water and grow things. Use large boxes or several small ones to make a playhouse or a fort or a castle. Save empty food containers and boxes and let them have fun playing grocery store. Cereal boxes can be made into all kinds of things. Let your childs imagination go wild. Believe me as a kindergarten teacher children will use their imagination and play for hours.
