Please Don’t Send Damaged Books: Newsletter – October 2005

Thursday, October 6th, 2005

Just Like Santa, We’re Recording Who’s Been Naughty and Who’s Been Nice . . .so Please Don’t Send Damaged Books
With our new reporting system in place for members, all damaged book information will be recorded and reviewed. This includes how many times a member reports a book as damaged as well as how many times a member gets reported as sending a damaged book. If these numbers become inappropriate for any member at any given time, based on the terms of use, we will take action to close that member’s account. So, please only report books that are totally unacceptable.

Ever Wonder “Why Wasn’t My Request Accepted?” Newsletter – October 2005

Tuesday, October 4th, 2005

Well, wonder no more. Now members whose requests are not accepted are able to see why. Any time a request is turned down by a member, they must provide the reason why they are not able to keep their commitment to swapping the books they have posted to the site.

If your request was turned down due to Requestor Conditions and there is no other copy of the book available, you will be notified. Please keep in mind that if you maintain your conditions, there will be an active copy of the book in the system, so you will not be able to Wish List the book.

As a reminder, you should only post books that you are willing to trade. Also, you should only Wish List books that you are willing to request when they become available. Lastly, your Requestor Conditions should be within reason. Given these standards, we should rarely see book requests being turned down. A count of the number of requests turned down is kept for each member.

Members Respond Strongly for Hurricane Katrina Book Relief: Newsletter – October 2005

Monday, October 3rd, 2005

As our Hurricane Katrina Book Relief comes to a close, we’d like to thank each and every one of our members that donated books from their personal libraries. Please know that you have made a difference in the lives of so many. Because the area is still in a rebuilding phase, we’ve been asked to wait to coordinate delivery for a few more weeks. Once the books arrive at their final destination, we will give you a complete update.

In Closing … Newsletter – October 2005

Sunday, October 2nd, 2005

As the leaves are turning vibrant colors, a chill fills the air and we light our first fire of the season, we look forward to spending the month of November with a book in hand and our Book Family in our thoughts. Let this be a peaceful month, filled with thanksgiving for our many blessings and prayers for those less fortunate.

Faithfully yours,

Richard & Robert
And The PaperBackSwap Team

Quote from One of our Members: Newsletter – October 2005

Saturday, October 1st, 2005

I have received over 60 books, and find myself checking this website and my email over a dozen times a day, as well as checking the mail every day as soon as it arrives. I have received over 60 books and I must say I am thoroughly surprised as to the integrity and honesty of the members of this website. I have received several messages asking if it was ok the dust jacket was missing, as well as small things like that because they want to be sure that everyone is happy!
