This week’s Free Book Friday Prize is a 3 book package that includes a copy of each of these books:
Julia Child: A Life by Laura Shapiro
The delicious life of one of the most beloved figures in twentiethcentury American culture. With a swooping voice, an irrepressible sense of humor, and a passion for good food, Julia Child ushered in the nation’s culinary renaissance. In Julia Child, award-winning food writer Laura Shapiro tells the story of Child’s unlikely career path, from California party girl to coolheaded chief clerk in a World War II spy station to bewildered amateur cook and finally to the Cordon Bleu in Paris, the school that inspired her calling. A food lover who was quintessentially American, right down to her little-known recipe for classic tuna fish casserole, Shapiro’s Julia Child personifies her own most famous lesson: that learning how to cook means learning how to live.

I love to cook–maybe because I enjoy seeing people enjoying my food. I used to cook for a mission several times a month. I enjoy cooking the meal more than desserts although I do cook desserts too. I try to incorporate foods that are good for health with lots of fresh vegetables. I’m still learning.
Wow! What a trio!
Cookbooks, my favorite!
This is an awesome idea! Keep doing this!! (and, I’d like to win!)
Oh my gosh, I could sure use some new cookbooks….I lost all of mine in 1996 when we had a major flood in my area. These look awesome, I’d sure love to have these!
Tamales have a mysterious aura around them; purported to be ‘a lot of work,’ I’d love to give them a try. Tamales are classic and can be dressed up or down. Hot sauces can alter flavors; thus, they are an excellent add-on for this cookbook extravaganza from Paperback swap.
My kids would love these books!
