That’s right, it’s our 7th birthday!
We’ve passed some great milestones in the last year including 5 million books posted, the 10 millionth book mailed and received, donating over 32,000 books to schools & 17,500 books to the military. We’ve also swapped hundreds of thousands of books and added plenty of fantastic new features to make the Club even better. We’ve added new members, made new friends, found new authors we never would have tried, played games, laughed and shared and cried with each other, and learned so much along the way. We are delighted to see how the Club has grown and evolved in the past 7 years, and look forward to many more years reading together.
It’s no secret that all of our volunteers and members are what makes PBS the wonderful community it is today. In celebration of all of you that have made the last seven years so incredible, the PBS Team is turning the tables and giving YOU the birthday gifts! We are a group of readers, so of course there’s no better present than book credits!
To enter our Happy Birthday to Us Drawing, just respond to this post and tell us how long you’ve been a member of PBS. If you aren’t sure how long you’ve been a member, you can find it in “My Profile” under “My Account”. If you haven’t chosen a nickname or made a profile yet, now would be a great time. Simply go to “My Account”, choose “Settings” and click “Set Up a Profile”. You can also see the date you joined on each forum post you write.
We will draw 7 responses at random to receive 7 credits each! The contest will end on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at 7:00 pm. We will announce the 7 winners of 7 credits each on Wednesday, September 7, 2011. Do you see a pattern here?

It’s been 2 years for me and I was prompted to join when my local big box bookstores failed to stock older books written by my favorite authors. And of course I hate to pay full price for anything these days. I love you PBS. Keep up the great work!

2-20-09 – the best book swapping 2 1/2 years and counting!
Became a member in June of 2006…just over 5 years now. I saw a write up about the website in some magazine (can’t remember which one) and checked it out. Now I visit pretty much everyday.
I have been a member for 4.5 years. My father, who passed away last month, told me about the site and even gave me some credits to start. I have had a wonderful time posting and the site will always remind me of my father and his love for books. Happy Birythday

It’s been more than 6 wonderful years since I joined PBS. I can’t remember exactly how I found PBS, but I was desperate for a used book source since I’d lost the only two used book stores in my area to Hurricane Ivan and Hurricane Dennis. I love both mailing out books and receiving books. And I’ve found that PBS is also a great source for the audio books that my husband and I are now so fond of. Happy Birthday, PBS, and may you have many, many, many more!!!

I’ve only been a member for 6 months, but so far, so good! A friend on Facebook told me about the site and I joined immediately and have been trading books ever since.
I’ve been a member of PBS for 10 months and it has been a real blessing to me. Our local libray reduced it’s hours and it is quite a distance for me to travel, PBS was a Godsend! I can order and send books from home with little travel. Thank You PBS! Roxine Puls
January 2009–what did I do online before PBS? Love this site. I love posting a wishlist book and knowing that someone out there is going to smile when that wish list offer comes through! Very enjoyable system and group of people. Thanks for all your work to make this such a successful swapping site!
I have been a member for a little over two years. I love PBS and recommend it to all of my friends. My wishlist is filled to the max with many, many books where I am first in line, just waiting for someone to post their copy.

I’ve been a member for almost 2 years. I joined because when I moved, my new library didn’t have any of my old favorites!
I’ve been a member for just about 2 years now. I’ve gotten some wonderful books here. It’s sometimes hard to feed a reading habit like mine, but paperbackswap has helped keep me happily supplied with books at a cost even a poor college student can afford. Thanks for everything, and happy birthday!

I think I’ve been a member for about 3 years. Hope you can flex a little on the deadline for the drawing, since we’re really hurting in the NE from the hurricane. We just got power back today; I had no access to Internet (no power or water, either) since Sunday morning. I really enjoy PBS!

Happy Birthday!!! Been a member since January 1, 2009. I am so glad I found you. I love books and don’t expect to ever be an e-book reader. Love the feel of it my hand. Hooray! Happy 7th Birthday! I’ve been a member since June 2006… so 5 yrs 2 mos! I’ve loved this Paperback Swap, and the Sister Swap sites too. I tell everyone about it and try to get them to sign up. Hand out business cards for you all the time! I love meeting new people who like the same kinds of books and enjoy emailing to me about them or their trips and families. Making new friends in my town because of the PBS Member List… You Guys Rock!

6/26/2007, and I have loved every minute! It has come a long way, and I love this site so much I tell every person that loves books that they must join!
I think it’s been about 1.5 years. Yay! I love finally having something to do with the hundreds of books I have accumulated but don’t love enough to keep. Someone else gets to enjoy them and find a loving home!
I’ve been a member since Jan, 2008. I’ve mailed 207 books, and received 184.

I’ve been a member since Jan. 2007 and it was one of the best things I ever did joining PBS. I’ve made many friends here, we’ve gone to each other homes, gone away on long weekends together, and real friendships have emerged.
I’m a Tour Guide and love answering questions, I think I spend more time on PBS than I do with my husband!! lol.

Been a member since 2/23/2006 and am so glad. Have read a lot of books, mailed a lot of books, and acquired a number of computer friends. We have the same birthday. was 76 yesterday, the 1st.
2 years 2 months. pbs has been a major blessing: I lost concentration for a few years and had troubles reading. then i found pbs and started ordering all these audiobooks which would have cost me $15-30 a pop. ive gone thru books ive always wanted to read, classics, and new books. i feel so “with the program” now and I have even started to be able to pick up physical books again. Now we have a room in the house dedicated to my pbs library and I spend hours “doing my books” every day, rather than say watching tv (or, ahem, cleaning the house). it’s a good thing we can sell credits or we would totally not be able to afford to send out as many book requests as I take care of. I really enjoy rehoming books to a delighted recipient.
I am coming up on my sixth year with the book club. Having received books for me as well as my wife and a few friends. Some were gifts to my grandkids. So I say HAPPY BIRTHDAY PBS. And may the years keep you busy shipping and receiving book requests, and new members.
